This week we're focusing on sampling in music tech! Sampling is the idea of taking a sound that is already recorded and manipulating it to create your own sound and/or song. We watched parts of Mark Ronson's TED Talk about how sampling has transformed the music we listen to today (linked below). We're taking this idea and putting it into GarageBand which has samples for us to use. We're also are able to record our own samples. We can combine this with a drum track and different loops to create our project! Next we'll be diving into a more complex app iMPC Pro which will take our sampling project to the next level.
